Our journey started with IFA Systems
IFA Systems had a personal approach; getting their to know clients and working to ensure that they created a website that met the needs of their clients. Each website was built by IFA Systems rather than leaving the client to sort it out. They also trained clients over the phone how to manage their website themselves, but if they struggled the job was done for them, often for free. The designers at IFA Systems ensured the site was branded with the client's logo and colours as accurately as possible, advising on custom work as applicable.
Whilst working at IFA Systems, clients talked to us about how we could improve their website usability for them. If we added a page to the website we had to make a charge, they weren't always happy with that and more often than not struggled with the content management system or had forgotten how to use it. Advisers constantly asked for documents to easily added using the editing suite we had for them.
We formed IFA Web Pro after the purchase of IFA Systems in 2011. We took onboard what we'd gained from IFA Systems, wanting to improve the service to our own clients but at the same time offer a professional web presence that was within budget.
One of the first things we did was to write new content, enchanced with images and in bite sized chunks. This was to both embrace best practice for search engine optimisation and also to improve the engagement of prospects when they visited clients' websites.
Another important change was the decision to not offer a content management system and instead to provide a more tailored service of a complete site build and maintenance. The new service eliminates the software and training overhead that we used to have and instead gives our clients a more personalised experience.
IFAs constantly tell us that they simply don't have time to build their own websites.
The “normal” templated website option historically has always been : change the colouring scheme and add a logo, with very little customising. We like to think we're different in that we include a degree of customisation in our designs to help you stand out from our competitors and have a site that is more than just nice to have.
